Reds’ supporters have the opportunity to thank Kyle May for his ten fantastic seasons at Borough Park with a Cumbrian derby taking place on Sunday.

A Workington team will take on a Carlisle United XI (3pm kick off) and Kyle is confident of making his comeback from injury after three weeks on the sidelines.

Kyle, with 433 appearances under his belt, will pull on a red shirt and do battle with a Blues team that includes many players from the not too distant past – many of whom have featured for both clubs.

The likes of Tony Caig, Ian Arnold, Tony Hopper, Craig Potts, Ian Milburn and Graham Anthony are expected to turn out for United as well as Mark Birch, Andy Watson, George Oghani, Steve Whitehead, David Brightwell, Chris Lumsdon, Scott Dobie, Paul Gorman and the best physio in the land, Neil Dalton.

Grant Holt is also hoping to be at the ground but will not involved in the game, unfortunately.

There will be an interesting combination in the Reds team with father and son, Kevin and Gari Rowntree, available for selection. Graham Goulding is also ‘coming home’ and Adam Collin too.

Present manager Gavin Skelton will turn out alongside Derek Townsley, Mark Boyd, Lee Andrews and David Hewson etc., etc.

A programme with plenty of photographs of the great man will be on sale with other attractions and sideshows planned.
