The two clubs have established a firm friendship since the North West Counties League days in the late nineties, playing each other in three different leagues since then.

Vauxhall tendered their resignation to the Football Conference recently with the matter discussed at a board meeting earlier this month. They intend to resume playing in the West Cheshire League – the level where Motors’ reserves currently play.

Alec Graham presented an engraved plaque to the Vauxhall secretary, Mike Harper, prior to the game at Rivacre Park and wished them every success for the future.
