... to honour Tony Hopper in a rather special ‘old boys’ gathering.
Billed as the Hoppy’s Legends game, Tony will welcome players who he played alongside in his distinguished career at both clubs ahead of the most remarkable derby encounter ever.
Mick Wadsworth will be in charge of the Blues while Darren Edmondson and David Hewson take control of the Reds.
Hoping to represent Reds in this rather special charity match will be David Hewson, Derek Townsley, Kyle May, Anthony Wright, Adam Collin, Jonny Wright, Gareth Arnison, Gavin Skelton, Graham Anthony, Mark Boyd, Ian Milburn, Craig Johnston, Dan Kirkup, Shaun Vipond, Grant Holt, Steve Archibald, Alan Gray, Marc Green, Mathew Henney, Graham Goulding, Wayne Johnson, Stuart Williamson, Robert Ennis, Darren Wilson, Craig Potts, Barry Irving, Will Varty, John Wharton, Gary Milne and Mark Eccles.
Several Workington old boys will be turning out in blue on the day.
Tony, 41 in a fortnight, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease earlier this year and proceeds from the game will be shared between the MND Association, Carlisle United Community Sports Trust, Great North Air Ambulance and Jigsaw Hospice.
Sales had topped the 1,500 mark earlier this week and tickets (£5) are still available from various outlets in Carlisle or the Brunton Park ticket office which will be open before the game.
