The best way to keep up to date with Workington AFC

Players to be honoured

2 weeks ago By Paul Armstrong

The Reds’ squad will be back in town on Friday, attending the annual Presentation Evening which recognises their exploits from last season.

Although there will be no silverware for the team, plenty of individual presentations will be made including the Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year accolades.

David Hewson, Lee Andrews, reserve team boss, Billy Redden, physiotherapist Tatjana Lipinski and sixteen players will join sponsors, directors, officials and supporters at the Washington Central to reflect on what was a very difficult season as a whole but very rewarding for several members of the squad.

A handful of players cannot attend, including Steven Rigg and Rob Wilson who have just jetted out to America for a three month playing stint across the pond.

The Reds Ladies will not be in attendance, due to the CFA Women’s Cup Final, with their presentations taking place at a later date.
