Reds are champions (hypothetically)

1 week ago By Paul Armstrong

Salute Workington Reds, the unofficial champions of Cumbria.

Their league record last season was the best of Cumbria’s dozen senior teams, so they deserve to be crowned hypothetical Champions.

Cleator Moor Celtic were the only team who could have leap-frogged Reds but they crashed heavily in their final game leaving David Hewson and Lee Andrews’ side as the county’s best and, as they say, the table never lies!

No trophy for finishing top of the pile but local bragging rights at least.
