Workington’s reward for defeating Evo-Stik South opposition on Saturday is an away tie at Evo-Stik North outfit, Glossop North End.

Under the joint managership of former Ashton United duo, Steve Halford and Paul Phillips, Glossop are doing well in the league and recently inflicted a 2-1 defeat upon Scarborough Athletic. In the Trophy they have knocked out Matlock Town and Leek Town.

Like the two previous rounds, Reds have met their future opponents in the Trophy previously. Back in the 1986-87 season, Reds lost a replay at Surrey Street (0-1) following a 1-1 draw at Borough Park.

More recently, however, Reds won 3-0 there eighteen years ago in the North Western Trains League thanks to goals from Darren Wilson, Matt Swailes and Matt Henney.

The Third Round Qualifying tie will be played on Saturday week, 25 November, meaning the away game at Barwell will have to be rearranged.
