7 Goal Thriller But Worle Take All Three Points

Street FC Reserves 3 v 4 Worle FC

Worle knew they would have to be on top of their game against a Street team who have already beaten both Uphill Castle & Somerton Town at home and this game was no exception with Worle winning by the odd goal in seven.
Worle started the first 5 minutes on top but then Street put the pressure on and with 15 minutes gone they took the lead when the ball fell to the Street winger and he bundled the ball in from close range .
Worle started for the first time with Taylor and Cahill up front and their direct running was causing the home defence problems but it was a goal from Callum Mcmanus who drew the sides level when a cross eluded everyone and fell to Mcmanus with his first shot saved it rebounded to him and made no mistake with his second chance. From this point Worle were well on top and if it was not for some inspired goalkeeping from baulch in the Street goal Worle come have been out of sight and it was no surprise that Worle took the lead from Mcmanus again when his side footed shot beat everyone. In between these goals worle hit the woodwork twice and a brilliant save also from a Taylor shot tipping it over.
Going down the slight slope should have been an advantage but it was Street who came out the better team and Dancey in the Worle goal making a couple of point blank saves . Street drew level after 60 minutes when confusion in the Worle defence allowed the dangerous Street forward on goal and he beat the advancing Dancey to give them a deserved goal.
Worle composed themselves and it was then that Man Of The Match Mcmanus looked to have sealed all three points for Worle with another finish from the 6 yard box. This was closely followed by the winner from Jack Hodrien who after good work from Tom Adams and Chris Taylor found himself with a simple finish. With the last kick of the game it was a great goal from Street when the Street centre half found himself in the six yard box and curled the ball into the Worle net.
This win puts Worle into 4th spot with games in hand and this Saturday Worle welcome Coombe St Nicholas to the Rec with a 2pm KO
