Red hot Hallam in seventh heaven as Briggers are well beaten

Hallam FC's Mitchell Dunne grabbed the headlines with four goals in a demolition of a weakened Worsbrough Bridge AFC side.

A makeshift Briggers side were swept aside by the forward power of Hallam as they went into half-time leading 6-0. The game was effectively over in the first 30 minutes when Hallam ceased on a makeshift Worsbrough team that had several key players missing for various reasons.

It was a bruising night for stand in boss Rhys Meynell who was working long into the afternoon pulling together a squad after a series of drop outs and injuries deprived him of his strongest side.

In fairness to the away team they competed well in patches and had half chances but in truth the Hallam keeper was rarely troubled in a game that was dominated by the home side in front of a crowd of 132.

The Briggers faired better in the second half, but in truth the game was over as a contest in the first half and Hallam were worthy and deserved winners.

There is much to ponder for the weekend game, away at Armthorpe as the Briggers attempt to reverse a 5th consecutive league defeat.
