Versatile player Connor Rollinson has decided to leave Worsbrough Bridge and rejoin Glasshoughton Welfare.

Rollinson, who was Worsbrough’s captain, is reunited with old Glasshoughton and Pontefract Collieries comrades Ryan Poskitt and Gareth Hunter at Leeds Road. He previously played for Glasshoughton under Simon Houghton and Craig Wilkinson during the 2015/16 campaign.

The right-back or central midfielder made his final appearance for Bridge in the 1-0 win at Huddersfield YMCA last Saturday.

He won many plaudits last season for playing through the pain barrier with wrist, back and knee injuries to help make sure Worsbrough avoided relegation.

His commitment to the cause deservedly earned him the club’s players’ player of the year trophy.

A club spokesman said "Connor's place in Worsbrough Bridge history is assured, on being made captain he committed to helping to keep the club in the league and achieved that goal as integral part of the team both on and off the field. All at the club want to thank Connor and wish him well at Glasshoughton and hope that he has a happy and injury free season."
