For those who have been to a match between these two sides would have known they were in for a classic. The teams have met twice before and produced two amazing games, the last of which saw Eve Marshall steal a point with a last minute penalty.
Today was to be no exception as Carcroft got their revenge stealing a point from the Bridge who held on for a draw.
Bridge were flying after taking a quick lead through Emily Hooson, a goal which was added to after a stunner from Esme Morgan. Carcroft pulled one back before Morgan added a second to take a 3-1 lead into half time.
The second half was a real battle with Bridge getting more goals courtesy of Morgan, it was 4 for her for the day and 21 for the season.
However a spirited comeback from Carcroft saw them score 4 goals in 20 minutes to pull the game back amazingly to 5-5. The opposition had their heads up and launched full on for the winner, but the Bridge defence held out for the point.
It was a performance that gutted the girls, however credit must be taken for some superb play throughout the match against a team they are quite matched with.
Final Score:
Carcroft 5
Worsbrough Ladies 5
The girls have a two week break now, but will face Aston in three weeks time before travelling back to Carcroft for this epic sage.
