Wrexham 2nds will host a Ceri Dawson invitational side this Friday the 18th Novemberko 19;30pm captained by Jonny (Apples) Davies.
Ceri Dawson is 28 years old and is married to Catrin Dawson. Yesterday they celebrated their four year wedding anniversary. They are also expecting their first child next week (8th October).
Four weeks ago Ceri was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Pleomorphic Soft Tissue Sarcoma. Up until a couple of days ago we were under the impression that the cancer was responding well to the chemo and were hoping that the tumour could be removed by surgery. However, MRI scans have discovered that the roots of the cancer have invaded too many complex structures and migrated to his neck, chest wall, shoulder and back. Because of this the doctors can not operate.
Ceri grew up playing rugby for Wrexham and now a select team of past and present players who played with Ceri or his brother are coming together to play wrexham 2nds in a pay per play game.
there will be some live music, raffles in the bar afterwards, everyone is welcome to come along and celebrate Ceri life and show case just how rugby families come together in time of need.
All monies raised will go direct to Ceri and his family.
anyone unable to attend but wishing to donate please feel free to donate to his online charity
