Strong Second half Campaign showing provides fond farewell to Mini Soccer.

The Saints took an early lead through Zak but soon found themselves 2-1 down before levelling just before half time after Finlay fed Nick. The winner came midway through the second half in a rare moment of flowing football with Finlay, Zak and Nick involved before Kajtek was put through to finish clinically.

Thame played their part in pulsating but tense affair, only to be thwarted by the defence of Kevin, Bash and man of the match, Brandon, providing ample cover for keepers Alfie and Christian who shared duties between the sticks. Rohan embodied the spirit of the Under 12s replacing tired legs and adding some energy that would keep Thame’s best player at bay as Saints tried to run the clock down.

Team captain Ryan was as ever inspirational throughout with tigerish tackling and a number of fine darting runs. Saints knew it was going to be their day as a last minute effort from Thame squirmed agonisingly past Christian’s right upright.

Team manager, Errol, had nothing but praise for the management and players of Thame whose performance and behaviour was a credit to their club. It was pleasing that the same level of respect was shown by the players and vociferous supporters of the Saints!

Amidst the celebrations ,Errol had time to remember it had been a team effort throughout the season and recognised the efforts of Jayden, Nathan, Harry, Joao and unused ,injured substitute Corey.

Young coach, Ben Mercer, ends his two year stint at the club on a high and will be missed by players and management alike.
