Wythenshawe second team produced a sensational performance to inflict a first defeat of the season on table toppers Prestwich Heys.
Heys had won all six of their matches and looked on course for another victory when they took the lead through an own goal. Things then went from bad to worse when Ryan Briordy missed a spot kick for Ammies.
However, the team showed their determination and equalised through Briordy who made up for his earlier penalty miss. Danny Bell then put Ammies 2-1 up with a header. The victory was sealed with a fine goal from Stephen Herdman following some fine interplay with Luke Hibbert.
The win leaves Ammies three points behind Heys. This Saturday sees the seconds travel to Elton Vale to hoping to maintain their fine recent form.
