What another amazing #BIGMOMENT for our little ECB All Stars Cricketers as they and our friends at Friends Sporting CC were selected to represent both our South Manchester cricket clubs for the Lancashire Lightning T20 Blast vs Durham Jets at Emirates Old Trafford, Tues 7th Aug.
Some of our All Stars were also invited to the pre match press conference, confidently asking questions to Lancs captain Liam Livingstone and getting to check out the media & press centre over looking the pitch.
After a quick flag waving and walking in lines rehearsal with Lanky the Lancs mascot....*cue Benny Hill music!! ;) it was time to strut their stuff on the hallowed turf and to appear on Sky TV too!!!
All went brilliantly (oh ye of little faith) just as we expected and everyone came off the pitch with THE biggest smiles in Manchester and definitely a memory to last a lifetime.
Time then to join all our Juniors and their families, who we'd invited along as guests of Wythenshawe CC to cheer on the All Stars and for some of the boys and girls to experience their very first live game of cricket.
Lots of great exciting cricket and opportunities to get themselves featured on the BIG screen, funny faces, kiss cam, dance cam and of course it didn't take long before the Floss was performed by nearly every kid in the stadium!!
It was a very close match, with lots of drama, sadly Lancs losing out in the end by just 4 runs!!!
Lancashire may have lost on the night but cricket has gained a new, young and excited audience, who also love learning and playing cricket too!!
We'll definitely take that as a WIN any day!
BIG thanks to Lancs for the invite for Guard of Honour and to everyone who came tonight to represent Wythenshawe CC.
