rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits!

The rain certainly did NOT stop our amazing community of Northenden & Wythenshawe in coming together today here at Wythenshawe Cricket & Sports Club, to support Baguley Athletic FC’s Annual Funday & Memorial Cup Match.
With representatives from most of our local sports clubs who are part of the Wythenshawe Sports Forum, Wythenshawe Cricket, Wythenshawe Community Rugby & Wythenshawe Black Belt Academy, nothing could spoil the fantastic community spirit on show today.
Having to move a few of the outdoor attractions inside was no problem at all and the kids had lots of fun getting face paints, glitter tattoos & bouncy castles too!
As we do every year we welcomed back participants & families from the Northenden Boat Race to continue the celebrations, great to get the organisers all together from Baguley Athletic, The Wythenshawe Club & Northenden Boat Race to show the great friendships we all have and passion for raising money for The Christie.
Before the fabulous local band Lemonade played a great set, we were honoured to welcome the family of the late Sean Foran, onto the stage to present the club with a defibrillator they have donated to the club for members, sports teams & the community.
It’s too early to say how much was raised on the day for charity, we will of course announce as soon as we are given the totals by all involved.
Final thought, it really was reassuring to see how much our community CAN do when we ALL work together!
Long may our great friendships & our united community last!!
Thanks & well done to everyone (you all know who you are) who gave up their valuable time to volunteer help & support on the day, you are all stars ?⭐️?⭐️
