What a fantastic weekend it’s been here at Wythenshawe Cricket & Sports Club supporting & hosting Wythenshawe Community RUFC in staging their 1st ever Summer Rugby Festival.
Saturday U15s vs Ramsey Isle of Man Steve McLellen Memorial Cup Match won by Ramsey RUFC, Family Funday & a fantastic Comedy Night saw the club packed out for a great night.
The weekend continued on Sunday, with teams & their families travelling from far & wide, including Firwood Waterloo, Liverpool Collegiate, Tarleton, Ramsey (IoM) Huddersfield YMCA, Burnley, Heaton Moor & Congleton, there really was a fantastic array of skills & young rugby talent on display.
Winners from each age group received the inaugural WCRUFC Rugby Festival Cup, with Huddersfield YMCA RUFC bagging themselves silverware for the U12s & U15s, other winners to be announced when all details have been collated.
As a great community focused club, we were proud to have been asked by Wythenshawe Rugby to host today’s Rugby 7’s festival, as in the 2 short years of bringing Rugby to Wythenshawe, they have more than proved that they are here to stay & we hope to support more events in the future.
We believe that communities that work & support each other, succeed together on & off the field.
Well done to everyone at WCRUFC who worked hard to organise the event & a big thanks to all our own Wythenshawe Cricket & Sports club staff that went the extra mile to support over this hugely successful weekend.
