Mitcham RFC are a side based in Surrey, London. Alisa from YDRFC and Mark from Mitcham RFC have started the ball rolling with a suggestion of a game between our 2nd/3rd/Veteran players v Mitcham RFC Veterans.
Mitcham 1st XV will also play a match against a HM Forces side TBA.
Yardley’s Joe Murphy and Mitcham’s Daniel Simpson died in Afghanistan tragically in each other’s arms.
It goes without saying we owe an awful lot to these brave young men, all proceeds from the event will go to help Charities that deal with War Victims and Hero’s alike.
Throughout the day there will be a number of games of rugby which we are all invited to attend and watch if we are not playing.
Mitcham RFC will put on a disco for us all in the evening where we are kindly given the opportunity to get horrifically drunk and compete in a number of competitions and Raffles. Pledging our cash to a worthy cause.
Saturday 12th May 2012 is the date for the Game.
At this stage Organisers from the club are considering modes of transport and accommodation. Potentially this could be a mini tour for a fantastic cause and a perfect excuse for a coach trip.
Both our Club and Mitcham RFC would greatly appreciate all playing and social members of the club to support this more than worthy cause.
