Announcement from Phil Addy, Yarnbury RFC, Chairman

Dear member
It gives me great pleasure to announce that we've had the official handover of our new state of the art AGP this morning from the RFU’s specialist contractor - SIS.
The pitch has past all relevant performance and safety tests and we are now only waiting on the official certificate to play from world rugby, which we will have before Saturday 3rd November.

As usual there have been a number of individuals who have worked tirelessly to get this project over the line, but if I can make special mention of thanks to Simon Moglia, Richard Wharton and Kevin Wray for the time and effort they have put into bringing this project to its successful completion.

I appreciate there have been many other individuals (you know who you are)involved in this project and to everyone concerned, the members of Yarnbury and hopefully the wider community I hope would like to express their thanks for helping provide a facility that will benefit us all for years to come.

There are still a number of items around the pitch and car parking areas that the contractor has to finish, but these will be completed prior to the grand opening on Saturday 3rd November!
These include new duralock safety fencing along the sideline on the back floodlit pitch.
Finishing off the new top car park, including new wooden fencing separating the car park from the kids pitches. Re seeding the areas of new soil around the pitch.
We then have a 12 month defects period were any issues that may arise from the works carried out will be rectified by the contractor.

The new RFU booking system is now in place, so we should start to see more clubs and individuals from around the area using the facilities over the months following the official opening, which should only benefit the club in the long term.

As a club we need to start making the most of our new facilities, by spreading the word to our friends , family, work colleagues and other parents at our kids schools, encouraging them to send their children along to play rugby on the new AGP, or even come along for a run out themselves.

As a club we are now working towards the Grand Opening on Saturday 3rd November with events kicking off at 12 o’clock, with games running through the day, culminating in a Evening party from 7pm till 1am, so get your free tickets for the evenings festivities from either Darren Foster or Simon Moglia, or just ask behind the bar and they will reserve them for you.

Tickets are limited, so get them quickly to avoid disappoint.

Regards,
Phil Addy
Yarnbury RFC: Club Chairman
