Last time these two sides met Yarnbury squeezed out a 20-10 win. With the weather and Yarnbury missing 4 key players this time it again was going to be a hard game.

Yarnbury didn’t get off to the bests of starts letting a Baildon winger using his strength to get in the corner for an early try.
Yarnbury responded well with a strong run from Malthouse, which enabled him to get in under the posts, which fly half Oldridge converted to make the scores 7-5.
Both teams were either ends of the park but neither could turn territory into points,
Baildon had a chance just before half time to go ahead with a penalty but the fly half missed the chance.

HT Yarnbury 7 – 5 Baildon

Not too long into the second half Yarnbury scored from confident running with the ball in hand thanks to Hodgson and as a result it gave Cooper a chance to dive in the corner for a good backs try (12-5).
The forwards in the second half got a better grasp of the game improving on their rucking and scrummageing, which put Yarnbury in the Baildons 22 and from good hands, it let Malthouse simply dive in the corner for a try (17-5).
With great performances from out of position Lines at (scrum half) and Peters this gave Yarnbury confidence in the backs to again get good field position. From a solid scrum, Number 8 Wainright was helped over the line by his fellow forwards to put Yarnbury further ahead (22-5).

From the kick off Yarnbury played some great rugby ignoring the conditions and marched down the pitch with a good number of offloads, Baildon were under pressure right on their line and from a messy lineout Doyle stole the ball off the floor and with some great forward picks and drives it enabled McNulty to dive over for his first Yarnbury try of the season (27-5).
Again from the kick off Yarnbury got into good position and with a number of scrums and lineouts in the Baildons 22, Sproul used his front row power to get over for another Yanrbury try (32-5).
Baildons good tactical kicking earned them good field position, and for the last 10 mins of the game Yarnbury were made to Defend but from the team’s great fitness (Cheers Mick and Dean) Baildon were not let in.

Result Yarnbury 32 Baildon 5.
