Yarnbury showed glimpses of their old selves with a dominant 32-5 win over Rochdale.

Straight from the kick off Yarnbury’s determination showed when they stole the ball through Ben Wainright at a ruck and simple hands down the line enabled Will Griffiths to score. 5-0
Again Yarnbury through forward Jack Hayes marched into Rochdale’s half giving Yarnbury’s backs a good platform to work from and this enabled Rob Peters to weave his way through Rochdale’s defence for a well earned 5 pointer. 10-0

Yarnbury made a mistake when receiving Rochdale’s kick off which gave them a good chance to score but after some dodgy defence from Yarnbury they were kept out. The Yarnbury forwards were dominating the game especially in the scrum where 4 scrums were won against the head through hooker Chris Doyle.

Yarnbury’s backs were handling the ball well and this gave Jack Malthouse plenty of yards down the wing from this two tries were scored in quick succession coming from scrum half Josh Bateson and Jack Malthouse. 20-0 HT.

Rochdale made it difficult in the first ten minutes for Yarnbury to gain any decent territory with some good defence.
With the introduction of a few substitutions, sub Cameron Morton received a offload off the back of a lineout and ran 55 meters down the wing for a brilliant solo try, which was successfully converted by George Oldridge. 27-0

A section of 15 minutes was spent with no scores but plenty of good forward work from Yarnbury especially in the lineout where Chris Denton Stole 4.
Rochdale battled hard all game and from a penalty they ran through some very poor Yarnbury Defence to earn themselves their only points of the game. 27-5
Yarnbury got down field from some good counter rucking work into Rochdale’s 22 and from a lineout the forwards drove to the try line where Captain Toby Aktin dived over for the last points of the game.
