PREVIEW: Yate Town v Street

1 week ago By Sebastian Parker

The Bluebells first home game of 2019 sees us host Street at Lodge Road

Yate Town continued their early season’s fine form with an impressive festive period which saw us pick up 4 wins and 1 draw over the 5 games, with the most recent result being a 2-0 away victory at Melksham on New Year’s Day which sent the Bluebells back to top of the table after Blackfield & Langley succumbed to a 4-0 thrashing at home to Winchester.

Yate Town manager Polly and labelled the support from the fans over the festive period as ‘outstanding’ and is hoping it will continue into the new year with some tough games on the horizon.

Tomorrow’s visitors Street are in excellent form themselves, and will come as a stern test for Yate. They are well positioned in 7th place and will look to mount a play off push.

Squad News:
Captain Nick Peare returns to the squad after missing the last two games.

Ben Brooks also returns after injury

Sam Boulton still ruled out through injury

Mayson Evans, Sam Kamara are still unavailable

Polly’s View:
Tomorrow we face a stern test v Street FC. Rich Fey and his squad had an outstanding title winning campaign last season and have continued with that momentum this season.
The players have been excellent over the festive period and our performances recently have been very consistent.
The support we received during a busy period was outstanding.
We will have to continue with our recent form, to gain another positive result on Saturday.
