Yate came away from a game with three points for the first time since we beat Didcot at The Jelf Stadium over 3 months ago on 3rd December.
Luke Bryan's late goal secured the points in a well contested game where Yate defended valiantly and probably deserved the win.
New signing Shaun Gilbert had a very good debut and showed flashes of brilliance, crashing the ball against the bar mid-way through the first half which nearly gave Yate a 2 goal lead.
Yate started strongly in the opening 20 minutes and it only took just over 5 minutes for us to find the opening goal. Jack Ball doing brilliantly to shrug off a defender on the wing and then find James Harding in the middle, who finished well into the bottom corner.
Yate could have doubled the lead but hit the bar as Shaun Gilbert went close.
Bishops Cleeve hit the bar down the other end via a deflection as the visitors started to grow into the game come the end of the first half.

The visitors came out firing in the second half and they were awarded a penalty when captain Charlie Hitchings handled the ball in the area. Cleeve striker Davidge converted from the spot. 1-1
Polly's introduction of the substitutes proved decisive as two combined to seal the winner. Llewellyn found space on the left hand side and picked out an unmarked Luke Bryan who slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
