COACHING 2009/2010
Yatton’s coaching team has changed this season, we welcome Will
James as Head Coach assisted by Sam Osborne as backs’ player coach.
Will is a Gloucester Player and Welsh International; he has agreed to
continue coaching at the Club with the assistance of Ian John,
Director of Rugby and with John Harris assisting on Match Days if
Will is unavailable.
Will achieved his Level 3 certificate last season using our players in his
assessment program. This year the Club has encouraged new coaches
to take level 1 and 2 coaching courses. We can now boast around 30
qualified coaches throughout the Club at all levels.
Sam returns to the Club after playing at Bridgewater for the last few
seasons. We welcome him back and hope he enjoys the return to his
junior club. He has improved the fitness level of the players during
the summer months and Will and Sam started pre season training in
June and have been pleased with the attendance of the players,
between 30 and 45, for most sessions.
The league will be demanding this season and the coaching team is
convinced that there is a new level of fitness and commitment, pride
and passion for the game. There are many new young players at the
Club and many of the Colts side this season will be considered for
senior rugby. We have a strong squad of talented, home grown players
with a committed coaching team who will maintain and hold the
strong belief that we can provide a competitive, successful and friendly
atmosphere at the Club, while maintaining a truly amateur status.
