After a tricky summer, but a positive start to the season, Yaxley FC President Jeff Lenton has an update for supporters of the club.

Club President Jeff Lenton has sent through the following update for 200 club members and all supporters of the Cuckoos.

Please see below the draw winners for both month ending May and June which due to an oversight on my part, didn’t get published. I can only apologise and hope that everyone will understand as all our attention has been on the construction of our fantastic new 3G pitch … which as you can see above is very impressive and we are assured by the manufacturers “FieldTurf” the specification makes it “one of the best artificial turf pitches in the country” … The whole project has been completed within an 8 week window which is a massive achievement and is thanks are due to everyone involved. We should have the official FIFA/FA testing completed this week and our first HOME game on the new pitch will be a challenging FA Cup fixture versus Gorlestone FC (Yarmouth) on Saturday 15th August – 3pm KO

On the playing front, there’s a new 1st Team management team headed up by Ian Benjamin, Andy Coleman and Andy Furnell and supported by a new U21 and U18’s player development programme, some exciting new players plus an excellent 3-1 win at Harborough Town in the league on Friday night (with seven 1st team players unavailable) - so lots to see and talk about and of course everyone will have an opinion LOL.
