In the first of a new feature assigning past and present players their heritage number, we look at one of the clubs greats.

York Lokomotive RLFC started life in 2008 and have used a number of players over the years, a 161 to be precise and each and every one of them have been assigned a heritage number. Over the coming weeks we are highlighting a few of those who have pulled on, the quickly becoming legendary red and white jersey.

We’ll start at the beginning so that means first up is Heritage #1 club stalwart John Hough. ‘The Hough’ as he is affectionately known is the type of player who’s name is always first on the team sheet, and it literally was. John played fullback in the Lokos inaugural game in 2008 and carried on with his reliability throughout that year and beyond. He not only captained the club he also went on to be a coach of the open age side, in both roles he always brought a brilliant professional which always rubbed off on the players who gave and always will have a massive respect for John Hough.
