It was most important that we didn't take Ossett's league position at face value; we had to ensure we didn't under estimate our opponents.

The team responded well to the pre-match brief and began brightly playing some good neat football in tight areas. This combined with hitting the wide players seemed to settle us quickly into a rhythm Ossett struggled to play against.

Freddie Swales played Joe Wilks in early with his effort resulting in an Ammers corner; which came to nothing.

In the 4th minute Alex Noteman picked the ball up from the defence, crossed the half way line and ran past a number of challengers before letting a left foot shot go, travelling wide of the goal.

Courtney Westcarr then began to have a positive impact on the game taking on the Ossett right back at every opportunity, on 8 minutes he played Tom Hick in, but the ball just skipped away from Tom before he had chance to control it.

On the quarter hour Ossett had their first chance; a low drive which Josh Avery turned around the post for a corner.

Breaking from the corner the ball found Ryan Mills on the right touchline around the half way line. With nothing on; Ryan ran the length of the touchline to the corner flag, at this point with no real support, he then ran the goal line towards goal. He then struck a hard left drive into the net! 1-0 Ammers after 16 minutes.

The 24th minute saw great build up play involving Joe Wilks and Tom Hick; Ryan Mills then picking their ball up but hitting his shot wide.

In the 37th minute Tom Hick was unfortunate to pick up a caution for trying to block a clearance. No real danger to the opponent and far less than some of the challenges made by both sides during the game; all of which went unpunished.

An Albion free kick on the edge of the Ammers box resulted in Bien Kayij taking one for the team!

The teams went in at half time with Ammers just the goal ahead. The second half started as we expected, Ossett coming at us and trying get on terms as early as possible. In truth Ossett had the better of the exchanges and whilst not really testing the defence they did look to have more appetite. Set pieces seemed to be Albions best chance of equalising, but these came to nothing.

The game was effectively settled in the 80th minute when Alex Noteman put the Ammers 2 up with a half volley struck neatly into the Ossett net after a half clearance.

It was good to have Campey back after illness and pleasing the defence (Ben, Harry, Bien and the two Josh's) kept a clean sheet. So three valuable points which keeps the Ammers in touch with the leaders.
