It was back to league action on Saturday as the lads made the trip to the coast to face Aber Uni.
Storm Brian was causing mayhem but the pitch was given the go ahead.
Ricky Davies and Dave Anthony remained as a make shift centre half pairing will Will Denham retained his place after impressing in mid week. Lewis Sim also came into the side with Jack Weaver missing. Scott Mumby was again up top on his own with Lewis Jones making way for Gareth Williams in goal.
The 1st 20 minutes was very much 'backs against the wall' stuff for the depleted Mule, Aber Uni looked fluent in their play and caused us a lot of problems. Their superiority paid dividends on the 20 minute mark as they took a well deserved lead.
We slowly got ourselves going and after 35 minutes, Lewis Sim was upended on the right hand side of the host’s box. Tricky Tommy Jones stepped up and found the top corner with his left foot, 1-1.
In the 2nd half Lewis Jones, a regular goal keeper, was introduced into the game replacing Dan Owen.
Our play was improving and Lewis Sim was having a lot of joy down our right, Aber Uni didn’t quite know if they should press him or standoff.
With 10 minutes remaining, Lewis received the ball almost 25 yards from goal and let fly with a wonderful strike which found the top corner and give us a slender 1-2 lead. We held on for maximum points.
Thank you to our hosts who, despite the result, were very hospitable.
