Darlington Colts 40 points v Acklam Under 17's 41 points

By Jim Ward

Acklam's true grit prevailed as they won this very competitive match.

All credit to both teams who showed real character as they each defended as though their lives depended on this game. The pitch was very heavy so it turned out to be an old fashioned arm wrestle, so what ever skills were lacking it was made up for the shear endeavour which both teams displayed.

The game swung back and forth throughout and it was only shear bloody determination by the Acklam players that they successfully defended their try line in the last ten minutes. This was a complete team performance as every player deserves a mention. Jacob Robinson was at his best as he provided the tries for the team. However, Jon and Adam Carr, Connor Mitchell, Joel Nichols, Theo Labonette, Storm Collins, Jack Fox, Nathaniel Marsey, Brandon Fox, Brooke Scott....I apologise to the lads who names escape me (old age).

Well done lads, stick at it, you've all got a rugby future with the spirit that you have shown to-day!
