Preview - Sheppey Next Up for the Rams

By Website Administrator

Sheppey United make the journey to Mayfield Stadium tomorrow and both teams will be looking to break a run.

For the Ites, they are on a run of three defeats in a row having most recently succumbed to First Division SC Thamesmead in the league cup. This loss was made worse by some key injuries that are probably more important to the team in the weeks to come as they look to get back into the title race.

For the Rams they will be looking to repeat Tuesday's good win at Bearsted and to end a run of 4 home game without a win. After reaching Christmas without losing a home game they lost three in a row and then Tunbridge Wells fought back last time out. Nahum Green, whose departure to Erith Town was very short-lived returned to fire in a hat-trick with the return of Jamie Thoroughgood added strength to the back line. It all sets up a good game against Sheppey tomorrow.

There are seven games in the league tomorrow. Leaders Fisher are at home to Punjab United (17th); Corinthian (2nd) make the trip to Croydon (19th); Cray Valley PM (4th) are at home to Rusthall (20th); Deal Town (9th) make the trip to Erith Town (14th); Bearsted (10th) are at Tunbridge Wells (16th) and Canterbury City (11th) are at Glebe (15th). In the Kent Senior Trophy Chatham Town are at home to Hollands & Blair although the game between Beckenham Town and St Peters (Jersey) has already been postponed.

It has been a damp and dreary Friday but it is due to be dry overnight with sunny spells tomorrow so it is expected that the game will not be in doubt. Temperatures should get up to a reasonable 11 degrees with some sunshine. There is likely to be a lively wind which will make it feel a bit colder.

The Fulham v Manchester United game will be on in the clubhouse before the game for those who want to arrive early.
