Enda Roper - RIP (updated 5/2/19).

By Pat Stokes

The ashes committal service for Enda Roper will take place at Altrincham Crematorium on the 22nd February at 1pm.

All are welcome to attend the committal service on the 22nd February. There will be drinks following the service at the Woodheys Club in Sale (299 Washway Road, M33 4EE) and all are welcome to this too.

It was with much sadness that the club has heard that long-standing club member Enda Roper passed away on Sunday 16th December after a long illness. Enda played for the club in the 70s/80s and early 90s and it’s right to describe him as a club legend; a fierce competitor on the field and a real gent and great company off the pitch. All of us who played a game or two with him, shared a few pints and many laughs with him are going to miss him even though he’s not been at the club in recent years. Some years ago Enda had moved to Suffolk to be closer to his immediate family. The club sends its condolences to Enda’s family and friends. RIP Enda Roper.

Enda's funeral (immediate family) takes place on 10th January in Suffolk. The internment of Enda’s ashes with his late wife Marilyn at Altrincham Crematorium and a wake thereafter will take place in late January / early February , date to be confirmed .
