“I first played for Askeans in 1966 and my last game was in about 1994 for the Dukes.
I started writing stories about the club some time ago in order to try and win a lump of cash from Rugby World who published tales about rugby. They must have been desperate for material one month as they published one of mine.
I then decided to make it into a book but couldn’t be bothered to try and find a publisher – so my son showed me how to blog.
In the unlikely event that you’re still interested (or awake) – start with ‘Where you can read about why I’m doing this’ – it’s in the menu bar.
The stories include stuff about many of the stalwarts of Askeans – blokes like Lunny, Chas, Chunky, Locks, Boney, Brom and many more – all of whom would probably rather have not been included.
Thanks for reading this – and if by any chance you’re a publisher please send a large advance for the rights to make it a book.
Askeans – it’s the most fun you can have with your kit on!”
