Aston turned up with an eye on the semi final in sight and on the back of 2 impressive wins without conceding. Surely not a third clean sheet in a row was to be in stall?
Gaffer ash in the sticks, Molony's pubes at left back, fingers and clarkey centre back and the actually molony at right back.
Lombardo left mid (in what we believe to be a 100% attendance record this year), Fleming senior right mid, with beeross and Ross centre mid.
Fish and Oliver up top.
Aston started brightly and had the majority of the ball against a poor chadlington side. The only problem, and story of the season, was could find the back of the net. Patience was needed to be key! The game was being controlled by Aston, who were moving the ball around well, working both wings, but could not find that cutting edge.
!st clear chance when a good move down the right led to Molony rolling over in down the line, who reversed the ball to Fleming Snr. He faked to shoot on his right and cut inside, only to scuff the left footed shot and the keeper parried wide.
Chadlington then took a shock lead, with the ball deflected up in the air, gaffers weighty frame unable to lift of the floor enough to get anything decent on the punch, fell to a chad player who's shot was blocked by the arm of clarkey and no mistake from the penalty spot.
Completely against the run of play, Aston behind. Aston continued to dominate and got fortunate with the ref giving an indirect free kick for a back pass. Pico touched the ball back to Fleming snr who drove the ball through a sieve of a Chadlington wall and Aston back in the game.
Half time came and went and with Molony's pubic bush carrying a knock, he provided the highlight of the game early in the second half. Pube head drove through and got to the byline, about to cross the comedy occured, a 1-2 left foot right foot toe punt. Pure genius. A few more shanks from the consistent left back and enough was enough, the pig was in to the action; Very much encouraged by the gaffer.
Ross providing an excellent display in centre mid and not missing a header and even pulling out a top slide pass. Not to be mistaken that he did then miss yet ANOTHER penalty with the score at 1-1.
Second change saw smudge make way for vince.
A fish solo slippery spectacular put aston in the lead, shortly followed by drifter on to replace the injured James.
A direct move then saw vince looping the ball over the keeper from a clarkey through ball for astons 3rd and there was still time for Molony to finish off the game with a neat finish from a Ryan Oliver through ball.
All in all a comprehensive victory and no clearer on what side may start on Thursday for the semi final. A good problem to have to have such an in depth squad.
Mom is ross, dominant in midfield and despite missing the penalty, kept battling and didn't lose a header.
