Gary Swenarton charity Aquathlon

It was with regret that we learned in July of the passing of former Bangor RFC player Gary Swenarton. Gary was a member of the Towns Cup winning side of 1975 and, as David Carson noted as captain of that team, he was one of those dependable types, who in the most strenuous of moments never let his side down.

In more recent times, Gary was an active member of North Down Cycle Club and North Down Athletic Club, and successfully competed in many triathlons - hence this event is held in his memory and for the benefit of Brainwaves NI, who is dedicated to providing support and information to all those affected by a brain tumour: patients, their families, friends and carers.
