It was a cold day at Footscray on Sunday for the Vase final but a good crowd of supporters turned up to cheer the team on.
Beccehamians started the game well and attacked for the first ten minutes. When Beccs were awarded a penalty in front of the posts, a quick tap was taken and Dave Watkins went over for the first try which Alex Warsop converted.
From the re-start Cranbrook mounted a series of attacks and Josh Fogarty was yellow carded for a high tackle. From the penalty Cranbrook scored a try which was converted to make the score 7-7.
Very soon after the re-start Ollie Adkins was yellow carded and we were down to 13 players. In the next ten minutes the Beccs forwards took a firm grip on the game and there was no score.
When the two miscreants were back on the pitch Beccs scored another try through Tom Ottewill , which Alex converted to make it 14-7.
Cranbrook attacked again and were awarded a penalty which they kicked to make it 14-10 at half time.
At the start of the second half Beccs scored a quick try through Callum Buckler and Alex Warsop converted to make it 21-10.
In the next sequence of play Beccs were awarded a penalty which Alex kicked 24-10. This was followed by another penalty kick by Alex to make it 27-10.
The next try was scored by Tom Buckle and was converted by Alex to make it 34-10.
Cranbrook kept trying and scored the next try which was not converted to make it 34-15.
Tom Ottewill scored the next try which was converted to make it 41-15.
Cranbrook scored e try through second row Calam Hall and this was converted to make it 41-22.
Still time for Lewis Miller to score a try which Alex converted to make it 48-22.
For the first time this season Alex Warsop had a 100% kicking record.
