2 goals in each half downed the Eagles. A controversial penalty started proceedings, after James Peters got rid of the ball, but in doing so, slid into a Hayes player. Once in each half, Bedford saw the woodwork deny them a goal, and two late goals for the hosts gave the impression it was one way football. The penalty aside, Hayes took their chances, and even hit the woodwork themselves, while Bedford had no luck with the final ball.
