The pitch at Yarnton Road was deemed playable after a 10am inspection but continued rainfall throughout the day meant the pitch was virtually unplayable by the evening. As The Robins had travelled for over three hours to get there the referee decided to start the game. Bideford led via a goal from Craig Allan when the official ruled that the game could not continue just before half time.
It meant Bideford’s longest away trip of the season, on a Wednesday night to boot, was wasted. Incredibly it’s now eleven games this season that have been postponed/abandoned due to the weather. It means Bideford’s goal of reaching the play-offs is becoming more and more difficult as their small squad have a really congested run-in thanks to the many rearranged fixtures.
