Hadrian Cup 2019

Hi everyone, I'm getting in touch to see what interest there is attending the Hadrian Cup next year 22-24 February 2019 in Newcastle.

Further information is below on the official website and on our Pitcheroo site, but in summary:

This is a 10s tournament - 5 Forwards and 5 backs at any one time, with full contact, scrums and lineouts. Each half is 10 minutes. This should be good for developing people's skills and experience so all abilities/experience are welcome/ needed. We can take more than 10 and will need to in order to have substitutes/rotation of players.

The playing venue is about 9 miles from Newcastle city centre so we need to factor in getting to and from there.

Friday 22nd - Welcome reception & registration in the evening
Saturday 23rd - Tournament in the day, awards after and out in the evening in Newcastle.
Sunday 24th - Brunch, goodbyes and home

Key decisions that need to be made if you are interested in attending are:
Can you commit before December 1st and save £10 on the registration cost? £15 before December 1st, £25 after.
How will you get there? Car share? Train (expensive?), mini-bus/people carrier hire (an option I'm exploring)
What sort of accommodation? Hotel/Airbnb etc (one or two nights?)

I've done some very rough estimates on possible cost scenarios based on a £15 registration cost. These are per person for two nights:
Option 1: Hotel Travelodge (from HC website) which only does double beded rooms, no twins. Flexible booking option £82. Travel + parking - 4 people sharing a car est £25 for fuel contribution/parking = £15+£82+£25 = £122.00

Option 2: Airbnb share: I've looked at one for 8 people - looking at https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/15444437…
This option for accommodation is an informal booking and not endorsed or made by or on behalf of the club. This has twin and triple rooms available and is located about 1.1 mile from the city centre. £72
Travel together in hired people carrier (logistially a challenge but could be fun too?) £40 (hire and fuel). = £15 + £72 + £40 = £127.00

Option 3 a combination of the above? - say Airbnb and people car sharing = £15 + £72 + £25 = £112
(Note depending on people's willingness to allow someone else to drive their car, one person may end up doing all/most of the driving. For the car hire option I've factored in 2 drivers).

1. Interest in attending
2. Can you commit before December 1st?
3. Are you interested in Airbnb accommodation sharing option or want to sort own option at a hotel?
4. Are you interested in going up as a group in hired car - say leave around 2pm-3pm on the Friday? Or would you prefer to arrange your own car share (It's approx 400 mile round trip 3.5hrs driving time).
