Heavy overnight rain left a soft pitch, a foretaste of the ground conditions to come.
Sutton were hopeful of getting back to winning ways against a team sitting six places lower and with five fewer points.
Fraser Thomas continued in goal with a back four of Tom Clark, Kai Long, Adam Crooks and Jack Dicker, a midfield of captain Jack Keen, Sam Downes, Zach Francis and Corey Rawlings and a front two of Josh Keen and Mason Daggar.
From the outset it was apparent that Corsham are a better side than their league position suggests and a god open game ensued.
On 10 minutes Thomas brought off a good save from a goalbound drive and 5 minutes later Snoddy in the Corsham goal did well to stop a Long header from a Downes free kick.
On 20 minutes Thomas again saved well, diving to his left.
Corsham broke the deadlock in the 31st minute, an attach down the right and a low hard cross to the far post eluding the defence was smartly converted.
Sutton made the first sub a minute later, Francis being replaced by Ben Alexander.

Corsham re took the lead on 75 minutes, the ball played from left to right was met first time with an unstoppable volley that flew into the top left corner giving Thomas no chance.
Sutton played the second sub on 80 minutes, Jack Keen giving way to Sam Roberts.
On 81 minutes Daggar produced a powerful shot well save by the Corsham keeper.
