All set for first Derby of the Season

Blofield enterain Acle up the Rec this Saturday

The first local derby of the season this weekend sees Acle make the short trip to Blofield.

This year's fixture has a very different feel to it as both teams unusually find themselves in the bottom four, struggling to maintain the very high standards previous era's have achieved.

Acle have already changed their manager, with the experienced Bob Taylor taking over and their last two results have shown some improvement.

Blofield also have a relatively new gaffer in Damian Didwell and he is still looking to find the right formula which would see an improvement in results.

Recent derby history though favours Acle. Blofield's last victory came on the 12th October 2013 when a Steve Burdett brace helped the beavers to a 3-0 victory. Acle returned the favour a few months later with a 4-0 win up the Rec on their way to their second Sterry Cup success.

The fixture paints a sorry picture for Blofield over the last three seasons, It reads like this:

Blofield Record V Acle P6 W0 D1 L5 F3 A15 Pts 1

No doubt Damo and his troops will be looking to rectify this Saturday afternoon.

Kick off is at 2.30pm and entry is free!
