Brigg Town came close to snatching an unlikely point after visitors Sutton Coldfield swept into a three goal.

Luke Edwards opened the scoring after 35 minutes with a stunning curling shot into the top corner which gave Rob Zand no chance before Danny Edwards and Craig Milligan added to the lead after the break, the second goal rolling in off the post and the third a free header from a corner.

Brigg refused to give in and reduced the arrears with 16 minutes remaining as player manager Scott Hellewell volleyed in from close range. Sutton Coldfield were reduced to ten men just 4 minutes later as Joseph Lyng saw red for bringing down Elliot Broughton in the box. Danny Buttle fired home the resulting penalty for the home side.

The Zebras battled hard and came close when Keiran McCaffrey headed just over but the visitors hung on to go home with the points.
