On a wet afternoon with constant drizzle, which became increasing persistent and heavy, Brook batted first and, after the early loss of both openers, were building a sound foundation with Ed Bishop, Nick Jackman and Robin Hudson all looking in good form before play was halted. After an easy tea, the match was called off.
