Late sickener for Bluebirds
After a pulsating match which the Bluebirds deserved at least a draw there hopes were dashed by a last minute winner from Rhyl substitute Tom Rowlands.
The Bluebirds had the better of the early exchanges bringing stand in keeper Mark Connelly into action in the second minute.
However it was the visitors who drew first blood with
LANCE JONES being rather harshly adjudged to have handled a shot which was driven at him from point blank range.
Stewart Carroll stepped up and beat returning keeper Dave Jones. This lead was short lived as a through ball beat the defence and
CRAIG HARRIS beat the advancing Connelly to level the scores.
There was a rather unsavoury incident in the last minute of the half when Elliot Jones put the ball out of play so that an injured Rhyl player could receive treatment.when play restarted rather than return the ball Rhyl mounted an attack and with the Bluebirds defence out of position Danny Holland put Rhyl ahead from an acute angle.
The Bluebirds came out for the second half with new vigour and after
LUKE SHERBON had missed a chance Elliot Jones crashed in a deserved equaliser.
The rest of the half continued end to end with both teams missing chances until the killer blow in the last minute when sub Tom Rowlands tried a speculative shot which looked to be going over but suddenly dipped and landed in the back of the net to spark wild celebrations from the Rhyl contingent.
This was probably the Bluebirds best performance of the season and this needs to be continued with in form Denbigh and league leaders Caernarfon next up
