Winners announced at this season's Player of the Year Do

“What a fantastic day and evening celebrating the achievements of the club this year. Well done to all involved!” Kenny Paterson, Chairman

Each year we celebrate the end of the season with a Player of the Year Do, following the club's final game. To celebrate 2016-17 CUP FC hosted a Family Day on Saturday 6th May with a BBQ providing much-needed food and then followed by the presentations - conducted by Chairman Kenny Paterson.

Kenny started proceedings by summarising the season, highlighting it as one of the first for a few years that has seen the club take a step forward; this being due to the management teams' efforts and commitment. The 1st team secured promotion from Senior A back to the Kershaw Premier while the Reserves, with Jamie Willis coming in as their new manager from January, quickly avoided a relegation battle to finish a comfortable 10th in Senior B.

Kenny thanked the club volunteers for their effort this year, in particular Ian Crofts for his role as Vice-Chairman and Treasurer, and David Cullum for being the club's Secretary since stepping back from management. With David's tenure coming to an end, he was given an award for his services.

Jamie then spoke firstly about the Reserves season, saying it was a platform for the next season, before handing out two awards. Mac followed for the 1st team stating the success came from the last two seasons, before handing out three awards - one being top goalscorer to Jose Patricio for his 55 goals. The winners were:

1st Manager's Player: Darren Burton
1st Players' Player: Jose Patricio
Reserves Manager's Player: Luca Pellegrini
Reserves Players' Player: Josh Monks
