Reserves win 2 - 1 at home; 1sts go down 5 - 0 away

Saturday was a day of mixed results for CUP FC as the Reserves were victorious, while the 1st team lost 5 - 0 to Great Shelford.

The Reserves hosted a Sawston Rovers team who had improved form of late but still sat second bottom in the Senior B table. It was the visitors who took the lead with a stroke of good fortune, a misplaced cross ending up as a simple tap in, and held on until half time.

CUP were on top in the first half, but stepped up in the second, with Lee finishing well from two good crosses to grab a brace and ensure the victory. An important 3 points earned.

The 1sts struggled in the first half of their match, conceding 4 without reply, as Kershaw Premier runners-up Great Shelford exerted some dominance. It was an improved second half display but the damage was already done and the score ended up as 5 - 0 to the hosts.

There are 5 matches remaining in this final week of the season for the club. 4 of those are at home over the space of 5 days with the Reserves in action on Tuesday and Thursday, vs Royston Town A and Needingworth United, while the 1st team host Cherry Hinton on Wednesday evening before facing Linton Granta on Saturday. The Reserves are away to Witchford 96 in their last match also on Saturday.

All support is very welcome!
