Reserves win 1 - 0 at Bluntisham Rangers to make cup progress

CUPFC Reserves defeated Bluntisham Rangers 1 - 0 on Saturday to make it through to the quarter finals of the Percy Oldham Memorial Cup.

Stuart John grabbed the only goal of the game on 15 minutes, heading home after Kenny's overhead kick from a corner had hit the crossbar. A win was even more the sweeter after a 5 - 1 league defeat in the same fixture at the start of September.

The Reserves win makes it three in-a-row ahead of a tricky away match to Whittlesford United this coming weekend in Senior B.

The 1st team had their game postponed due to opponents Eaton Socon having two players in the Cambridgeshire League's representative squad, who won 2 - 1 against Hampshire's top division.

The 1sts return to action this weekend as they host Chatteris Town in the Kershaw Premier League KO Cup, looking to extend their unbeaten run and at least repeat the league win over their opponents from earlier in the season.

Training continues at the Cass Centre tomorrow night, the usual 7pm start.
