1st team win 2 - 0 at home to Gamlingay United; two debuts made

The CUP FC 1st team made amends for a frustrating defeat last time out by earning a 2 - 0 win on Saturday, at home to Gamlingay United.

Playing their second home game on the 3G at Cambourne, due to the Cass being unavailable as a result of work on the Press site, the 1sts claimed a vital 3 points against a tricky Gamlingay side. Jose bagged a brace to take his tally to 16 goals for the season, only 1 behind Dan.

There were two debuts made for CUP in the match, with new signing George Broughton in goal and Sam Coe starting in defence - the latter returning to the club two years after his last appearance.

Training takes place tomorrow night at the Cass, the usual 6.45pm start, with both teams preparing for matches this coming weekend against title challengers. The 1st travel to West Wratting, hoping to inflict only a second defeat of the season on the hosts, while the Reserves host Huntingdon United, looking for a second home win in a row.
