It was a midweek of positive results for CUP FC as the 1sts and Reserves both impress in their pre-season fixtures.
The 1st team were in semi-final action of the Terry Wilson Trophy on Tuesday evening, playing last season's Kershaw Premier champions West Wratting. CUP were quick out of the traps taking the match to their opponents. Goals from Bradley and Will helped take a 2 - 0 lead into half time, before a penalty coolly converted by Jose ensured a 3 - 0 victory and a place in Friday's final vs Great Shelford.
The Reserves were at home last night hosting last season's third-placed team in Senior A Milton, who stepped in after Duxford United pulled out just over 24 hours earlier. A strong start saw the visitors surge into a 4 - 0 lead after 35 minutes, before a penalty on the stroke of half time pulled one back for CUP. We stepped it up second half to dominate and score three times, plus see a couple of good chances go bye, to claim a 4 - 4 draw.
