What started with a blustery cross wind also turned out to be an unsettled performance from the U12 Beast Squad..
Chippenham were under a lot of early pressure from the start without getting their hands on the ball - ultimately this kept going with some ferocious tackling but the constant Minety pressure resulted in a Minety try. Chipp respond well with some good runs and good rucking putting on pressure in the Minety half with the advantage to Chipp from their mistakes.
Another try from Minety after a long run from their half with Chipp missing some tackles.
Chipp bounce back with some good work moving the ball and a try for Ethan Powell in the corner.
Minety respond strongly and Chipp put up a good defence on their own line but eventually the relentless pressure gives Minety another try just on half time 1-3 to Minety.
Second half and Chipp knock on from the kick off, the swirly wind working against us. Again Minety pressure near the Chipp line forcing handling mistakes but Chipp through good rucking and driving forward make it to the Minety line only to lose possession and territory resulting in another try for Minety down to their strong play and forceful running.
Chipp bring on fresh legs and some good flowing play and movement down the line and a great agled run brings another wonderful Chipp try by Fynn Pritchard.
Another try for Minety, much like the first half a long run from their own half with tackles being missed by Chipp.
Minety are so often going into offside positions which puts undue pressure on the Chipp ruck.
Chippenham finish with some lovely direct movement taking them over the Minety try line by Daniel Holden - lovely Try!
A game against a strong running Minety side. Chipp were a little scrappy but with experience building and more use of the line and productive rucking the game may have looked very different. A good game though overall. Final Score Chipp 3-5 Minety
