Plainmoor has proved to be a happy hunting ground for the Bluebirds this season as they recorded another three points against full time Torquay United following the three earned against Truro City (tenants) last month.
The home side put Chippenham under a lot of pressure in the opening twenty minutes but once Chippenham had blunted that early threat they executed their game plan to a tee.
Asa hall headed a first minute chance wide for the Gulls and then on ten minutes Torquay had claims for a penalty turned down after Ruairi Keating went down in the area.
Just before midway through the half debutant on-loan WBA keeper Bradley House was quick off his line to thwart Keating.
On twenty four minutes Matt Smith was off target with a shot a minute later his effort was pushed out for a corner by Alex Bass and Jack Compton’s resultant corner was headed home by Smith.
Before the break Compton had two further efforts ass his thirty second minute shot went wide and a minute later his free kick was also off target.
After the break a further Compton free kick was saved by Bass whilst at the other end Jamie Reid shot wide.
On fifty five minutes Nat Jarvis’s low effort was easily gathered by Bass.
Then another Compton free kick was scrambled away off the line.
On seventy two minutes Opi Edwards’s low shot was saved by House.
A quarter of an hour from time former Chippenham loanee Jake Andrews hit a sweet lob with the outside of his boot that House did well to turn over the bar.
Ten minutes from time Andrews won and took a free kick but his shot came to nothing and try as they might the home side could muster no further chances.
The win was made even sweeter as Yan Klukowski came off the bench for the last ten minutes for his first action since signing in the summer.
