The First Team picked up 3 points at Broadway on Friday night. Jordan Jones and Richie Evans scored to give us maximum points in yet another away game.
Gregg Brown fired over in the opening 40 seconds as we made a bright start to the game. Jordan Jones then opened the scoring inside three minutes, his shot found its way into the net from long range. Attackers Peter Rees, Richie Evans and Andrew Evans all had half chances to extend the lead before the busy home team keeper made a fantastic save off a Drew Reynolds header. We had the ball in the net again just before half time, Andrew and Richie Evans combined to send Peter Rees through, Pistol slotted home only to be flagged offside. We went in 1-0 up having limited our hosts to long range efforts and set pieces.
The opening 10 minutes of the second half were even. We then doubled our advantage on the hour when Gregg Brown released Richie Evans to lob the keeper and put us 2-0 up. The game opened up and both Richie Evans and Peter Rees were denied by the hosts keeper. Ashley Owen and Richie Evans had chances to extend the lead further as we dominated the second half. We had the ball in the net twice in the remaining minutes, both were ruled out though by the officials. Keeper Kris Williams wasn't called into action during the second half as the game finished 2-0.
